tom scott: england ep1 nebula spoilers under the read-more! trailer's come out on youtube but i got to watch the first ep yayyyy I'VE NEVER BEEN SO ENTHRALLED BY A BELL BEING CAST IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. okay i've never seen a bell being cast before in my entire life but still. the new format feels like a combination of the smooth, hey did you know? scripts and tone of the original 'things you did not know' series, with some of the lightheartedness of the plus channel. at times i felt like a kid randomly tuning in to the discovery channel after school and finding a random show about things getting built or made. the back-and-forth switch between the live footage and the studio narration did feel a bit jarring at times, but it mostly worked! tom always tends to let his guests shine in his videos, and this was no different! the real stars of the video are antony and sam, the two guys who cast the bells. they're funny and good-natured and have excellent banter with each other and with tom. i'm honestly so tempted to go back and rewatch while taking notes because the format was just begging me to pay attention and learn along!
