These Days (A Tribute to Renee Good and Alex Pretti) Oh, these days are long and dark Battle weary, grey, and stark The road winds further than ever we thought it could Not knowing which way to turn, nor even if we should I see a black raven circling overhead Assessing the foreboding omen full of dread It sees the struggles playing out far below As the crowds’ conglomerate to surge and grow The “Kraa” of the raven rises to an unknown volumetric intensity Sending forth the message loud and clear with great immensity: “I urge one and all to keep arms joined in solidarity far and near And not to let your homeland slip and vanish amidst the fear.” As, for those heroic souls (Renee Good & Alex Pretti) we lose along the way We will carry them with us and never let them fade away The peaceful march will continue with our heads held high And never a teardrop, but strength and courage in our eyes I look to the sky and the black raven is gone Maybe, just maybe, it’ll return to a new day of the dawn @2026CherylDoyle #Democracy #ReneeGoode#AlexPretti #DemoracyMatters
