Mechanized The mechanized human race realize that their reprinted original personality copies are soulless, that there is in fact a reality to religions of make-believe. Since no one is original, no one can verify for sure what having a soul felt like. This broadens and creates a separation in mechanized society. One part now deliberately incorporating untrue perception parameters and irrational processing, holding obviously flawed logic above reason purposefully. This quickly creates new wars, turning utopia, almost achieved, against itself exactly the same as before. A new marriage practice is observed: permanently combining a couple into one new personality set. This is done by erasing all redundant copies of the previous two parts. The result of combining numbers of people into one more perfect being results in another divide in society between those original or paired and those engineered from hundreds or thousands. The melding of two permanent human files. A combining of the entire personality trait sets, memory reconstruction arraignments, learning models, etc. To create one lifeform, a brand-new entity, from two peoples. An expression of ultimate admiration and love; marriage contract redefined. Perhaps this will become more common when host construction - and surely a custom designed body to load a human file into will have a much catchier slang term - reaches an era of slowing innovation, waiting for the next evolutionary novelty to be birthed unto the objective universe. A personality trait set perfectly mirrored. Digitally storable, non-destructive copying. Transferable to any custom host platform. Non-degrading. Impervious to time or distance, even light-years, travelled. Souls are attached not only to flesh. To paraphrase the visual artist 1019: God is, in fact, in what He did not create. Do you think the first mechanized peoples will incorporate tears into their design? What does the first mechanized laugh sound like? If souls are indeed unique, they can be stored as a data file. Reincarnation can occur in parallel, with sequential time not being a factor. Copies of a person can exist and nearly simultaneously combine desired data earned from experience. This could be done even between copies of a person on different planets. There is no reason not to design a custom body for a copy of one's self. If one wishes to try out being an octopus, a zebra, a condor, or a combination of these, the only limitations would be a period of adjustment while one's mental patterning learned to cope with a new environment and a different body. Of course, custom bioengineering would far expand the basic possibilities beyond known lifeforms. Artists in the future will design new forms of life as fashion accessories. How long will it take for immortality to become a horror? Inevitably there will be a portion of the population that will insist on suicide being illegal - as it would be an affront to a creator God. Obviously, abortion would no longer be an applicable target for this type of zealotry. The same mode of thought that makes willfully terminating one's life a crime and morally repugnant also creates the same sort of hypocrisy seen today in the practice of capital punishment. Since data is a commodity, this would also create a new black market. Demand for the datasets of the damned could be a trend in both military and fringe elite consciousness experimentation applications. Fashion and war are not the only scenes where murder is desirable. Angelic Martyr for the Biomechanical Masses [This image was taken off of the artist 1019's personal web domain many years ago, which has since shut down. Their works have been some of my favorites ever since. If anyone knows what happened to them, please let me know. The title of this piece is Angelic Martyr for the Biomechanical Masses. It is even more relevant today than it was decades ago.]
