People thought Don, Jr. must be a friggin’ genius! Everything he touches, investments, securities, hell, probably lottery tickets all turn to gold, He is particularly adept at adapting his portfolio to predict opportunities with foreign governments -- it’s amazing. Where there is a mine in some obscure country few people ever heard of, he’s right there, ready to invest, ready to become a partner, ready to seek out the riches of the earth no one knew to be there. Well, of course his father knew, But Daddy swore he would never give anyone, especially his son inside information about upcoming loans to foreign nations. Why, that would be dastardly! So, Donny and the rest of his family are billionaires. Maybe if you were half as smart you wouldn’t be fretting over the cost of food and gas, maybe you would be able to find affordable health insurance, affordable housing, not worry about the attacks on Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security, be able to rely on veteran’s benefits or SNAP benefits, maybe send a kid to college instead of off to a useless, endless, war – a war started so some people in government can make yet another fortune betting on the fluctuation in the price of oil. Don’t you wish you were that smart? See this – Boldface mine: Don Jr. refuses to turn over records on 'almost clairvoyant' investments Story by Erik De La Garza • 18h • 2 min read © provided by RawStory Donald Trump Jr.’s investment firm refuses to turn over records to congressional investigators concerned about an "almost clairvoyant" ability to put cash in the right spot. Lawyers for 1789 Capital — the firm in which President Donald Trump's son is a partner — rejected a request for records from Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) in a letter obtained by CBS News. “As part of the investigation, Raskin sought records related to its ‘almost clairvoyant’ business moves and its communications with the Trump administration,” CBS News reported Wednesday The probe, launched last month, centers on 1789 Capital’s investments in companies that later benefited from federal contracts, funding, or favorable decisions by the Trump administration. Raskin requested a list of the firm’s “portfolio, due diligence materials for its investments and preservation of any conversations with members of the administration, including messages sent via encrypted apps,” the outlet said. But lawyers for the investment firm accused Raskin of taking a “spaghetti-against-the-wall-approach” based on unsupported claims. "1789 Capital welcomes legitimate congressional oversight, but it has no intention of being held hostage to political gamesmanship,” attorneys Alexander Merton and William Burck wrote. The firm disputed Raskin’s claims and denied receiving any special advantage from the Trump administration. But Raskin faces a problem, CBS News noted Wednesday. He cannot currently compel the firm to cooperate because Democrats lack subpoena power. That could change if Democrats retake the House in November.
