He also accused the administration of “a dizzying and coordinated attempt to try to hide from the American people and from Congress the costs and the consequences of this war,” calling it “like nothing I’ve ever seen” in 20 years in Congress. The Pentagon now puts the cost of the war at $47.1 billion, most of it for replacing bombs and missiles.
