Jesus confronted the religious establishment of his time. So why do people assume he would automatically endorse the modern Christian establishment? If Jesus walked into many churches today, I don’t think he would be impressed by the performances, branding, status, and endless arguments about doctrine. He would ask a much simpler question: Are these teachings actually transforming anyone? A lot of modern Christianity teaches people how to identify as Christian, speak Christian language, and defend Christian beliefs—but it doesn’t teach them how to walk with God. It tells you to have faith, but rarely teaches you how to develop unshakable faith. It tells you to trust Jesus, but rarely shows you how to release fear, surrender your anxiety, and trust so deeply that your entire way of living changes. It teaches you how to prepare for heaven, but not always how to live fully right now. “Walking on water” is not about pretending you can violate physics. It is a symbol of walking through chaos without allowing fear to swallow you. It means trusting God when the circumstances look impossible. It means standing so firmly in faith that the storm around you cannot become the storm within you. That is what people need to learn. How do you walk with God when your plans collapse? How do you maintain faith when you cannot see the path? How do you trust when fear is screaming at you? How do you become loving, courageous, joyful, disciplined, and completely alive? Christianity should not merely give you an opinion about the afterlife. It should transform the life you are living now. Faith should change your energy. Faith should change how you treat people. Faith should change how courageously you pursue your purpose. Faith should give you the strength to face rejection, loss, uncertainty, and suffering without losing your soul. If your religion only teaches you what to believe but never teaches you how to live, something is missing. Jesus did not merely call people to admire him. He called people to follow him. To live differently. To love radically. To trust completely. To become fearless in the presence of uncertainty. To build their lives on something deeper than money, approval, comfort, or status. Stop treating faith like an admission ticket you present after death. Faith is supposed to become a living power within you now. The point is not merely to believe that Jesus walked on water. The point is to develop the kind of trust that allows you to walk through the storms of your own life without sinking.
