Daily thoughts #19 Bant is back? Clasic pre-PT deck submission depression is seeping in. Everything seems fine, everything seems bad. I don't know what I'm doing, and I just wanna take a nap. IRL RCQ wasn't amazing. I almost went 0-2 drop, but managed to claw back to 3-1 just to promptly punt couple times and died at 3-3. Played Reanimator, didn't feel like my list was particularly great, no idea how to improve it. The Reanimator deck feels kinda mopey. I am just not feeling the vibes when I play that deck, and I have learned that feeling the vibes is important. Same thing goes for when I play UG Cub Ouroboroid (misspelled this when typed first but went back to correct it, hope you're proud of me dear reader). I like the Tristan list , but the legend himself told me it might be slight underdog in the UG Cub (😉) mirrors. For regular UG Ouroboroid, I quite like this list from Mason Buonadonna. Still, probably don't want to play this. Bant had a great day two conversion rate (45%) while Lessons (its worst matchup) had only 16.5%. My main reason for not playing Bant is the Lessons matchup. With this performance, Lessons might see less play, making Bant a better choice? Who knows. Bant is also kinda hard to hate out. Lessons performance is baffling to me. I think the deck is great. The vibes are definitely there. The data not really. I will try to recheck some of the matchups - I haven't played much vs the Oko card, maybe it's broken. Time to draft so I don't have to think about Standard for a while. There's also a chance I won't even get to Richmond because of the snowstorm, so who cares. 🤷‍♂️
