I made this piece for the ALA OC ralley with a previous sketch. The image edit incident happened during this piece's creation, and I find the initial emotion carried by this piece was ever more close to what I'm feeling at the moment. I would be lying if I say I did not have the intention to make money as I shifted from OC art to fan art, for this was the only viable way to keep my health insurance running under the current administration. But had my OCs had been the sole spiritual anchor of the past 14 years, it hits harder when the potential of them being stolen and manipulated so easily is here. For now, I will keep posting my art on X through means like sharing them as GIFs, while it is still doable. I might slowly adapt to Bluesky to post my art as well as more yapping like this because there is no better outlet elsewhere. For anyone who reads this, stay safe and hope we see through this together.
