MARS AND VENUS FACE OFF Daily Astrology Thurs 8th Oct Venus retrograde in Scorpio square Mars in Leo. This aspect is building over the next 2 days. Mars enthusiastically declares his brilliant new idea. Venus, eyes looking inward, is not so sure. She does not have Mars' powers of action, but she can see his naivety and wilfulness. That he is consumed by his own brilliance, and not listening to the gods. If he proceeds, he may succeed, but will also invite retribution and nemesis. Odysseus, full of hubris at his successes, offends Neptune, who prevents him returning home. Astrologers and healers offend the gods when they boast of their prowess, either directly or through 'testimonials', in their promotional material. This has become normal. If you are modest, you will succeed in the way the gods have designed for you. Above all, listen before you act, take the time necessary for Venus to have her say. You may have to wait years, you may find all your ideas were premature! She is peering into the depths, and this is slow. This square illustrates well the dynamic relationship between the masculine and feminine principles. They are very different. I won't say men and women because that is too politically charged! The square works the other way too. Venus is on her way to the Underworld, maybe for good reason, or maybe because she doesn't feel she has it in her to have agency and take action. The darkness here is when she blames Mars, feels that he is stopping her, and declares him to be toxic. She feels herself to be a victim. Mars says no, you have agency just like me, own it. So be bold, take action, but listen deeply as you do so. That is the creative interchange we are looking for between Mars and Venus.
