05T forms over open Atlantic. A new mid latitude cyclone is developing over the open Atlantic as an area of low pressure split off the on going Nor'Easter of which is currently affecting the north-east US. The low will be slow to strengthen through the next few days. However come Tuesday into Wednesday the system will merge with another area of low pressure and this may result in the low strengthening significantly. While positioned west of the Northern Ireland and Rep of Ireland. Once the system occludes the fronts will drift over Rep of Ireland and the UK bringing gusty conditions and heavy rainfall. Of which may result in flooding however there is some uncertainty on how much rain may fall during this forecast period. But rainfall totals may be confined to higher terrain. Specifically across western Areas of the UK and Rep of Ireland. The centre of 05T will drift northward through Wednesday into Thursday towards Iceland weakening all the while. However the system may still have a punch about it by that time.
