About Meritocracy: Who gets to decide who gets merit? Who gets to decide what is of merit and how much. How about when people have the same qualification but only a small minority are deemed of merit? There are so many things wrong with the "meritocracy". Actually, it's just a rebranding of the same old hierarchy of the rich and powerful. It sounds like it's not the same as the kings and queens game. Too many people don't go for the "god's chosen" bit anymore. The forced hierarchy or meritocracy is a major part of the dominant worldview and many people who are repressed by the system believe that it is correct. You don't just find it in governments. It's throughout our lives.
