Seems like investors have sided with Powell rather than Trump. What Trump is offering is hyperinflation due to his tariff policy. If he is able to actually fire Powell and take control of the Fed, then he will create hyper-hyperinflation (times 2 or 3). What he wants to do is politicize the Fed and, thereby, bend them to his short-term needs. Investors understand this. They aren't stupid. They have 'seen this movie before'. Trump, obviously, doesn't care. He is someone who made a lot of money buying distressed properties during the 1992 recession and thinks he can do it again. Of course, we would then suffer while he wouldn't. If the U.S. defaults on its debts, he couldn't care less. This from a man with 6 bankruptcies to his name. I hope the public comes to understand that.
