“Government corruption is now the second most important issue for voters in the midterms, behind only the cost of living, according to an exclusive Harris poll for the Guardian. Nearly nine in 10 Americans say corruption is a problem, and 78% agree that “elected officials care more about enriching themselves than helping people like me.” Voters are twice as likely to say Republicans have the bigger corruption problem, 40% to 21%, including 29% of Republicans themselves. Independents blame Republicans over Democrats 34% to 13%, while 42% say both parties share the problem equally. The findings come as Trump has built a $400 million ballroom largely funded by corporate donors, accepted a $400 million jet from Qatar, and made $1 billion from his family’s crypto business since returning to office, according to the Guardian. “Americans are triggered by leaders they now see as both responsible for and profiting off their growing economic hardship,” said Harris Poll CEO John Gerzema.”.
