“ The parents of Alex Pretti, the ICU nurse and U.S. citizen killed by immigration officers in Minneapolis, are demanding that the Justice Department release the evidence in their son’s death. Michael and Susan Pretti say the federal government has kept them in the dark for 275 days, even after they wrote to Attorney General Todd Blanche asking for basic information, including the names of the officers involved. “At every turn, they have ignored us, misled us and shielded Alex’s killers,” Michael Pretti said. “The federal government went on TV and lied about Alex,” Susan Pretti added. “They tried to slander his memory to cover up their crime.” The Hennepin County attorney says the federal government has stopped sharing evidence with state investigators, and the DOJ has moved to dismiss her lawsuit seeking it.
