We were saddened to hear recently of the death of Victor Yalom, who died by suicide earlier in the year. Son of writer and psychotherapist Irvin D. Yalom, and a psychotherapist in his own right, Victor also set up psychotherapy.net, an online training platform for therapists based on the idea that witnessing therapy-in-action is an effective vicarious learning experience. Victor’s loss is a poignant reminder that suicide can affect anyone regardless of their occupation or their insight into mental health issues and therapeutic practices.
