In the previous post, we introduced a sigil called the U.R.L. Mark which is used by witches and other magic practitioners to supplement their protest and resistance action, as well as by those who cannot attend protests due to an unsafe situation, a disability, or some other reason. Below is some additional information for those who are interested, with an introduction written by one of the URLM's creators. If you're not a practitioner, but still curious about witchcraft, this is a great place to start. INTRODUCTION So you've decided you've had it with the Fanta Fascist regime and the authoritarian wasteland this country is fast becoming? Well, do I have the witchcraft for you! As stated in a previous post, the Unite, Resist, Liberate Mark was created to be a beacon of defiance and solidarity. In turn, it grants the user whose intention aligns with the goals of U.R.L. protection as a shield that stands resolute against all oppression and hate. When used or carried, the U.R.L.M. is a sacred promise of safety, resilience, hope, and determination for all who use it—as long as the intent of the user aligns with the collective intention of the U.R.L. That intention is a rallying cry to unite all those like us in this fight, to liberate those who are caught in harm's way—including 47’s cult—and to resist and fight all advances and attacks on our lives, rights, and liberties. We call for Lady Justice now, without the burden of the patriarchal blindfold which was falsely attributed to impartiality. [ And for all those who stand in the way of this mark and the good it wants to do, well, y'all work your magic, trust that intuition, and you will see just how powerful a sword this shield can be against fascism and oppression. ] Now you're hyped up, you want to do­ your part and utilize the U.R.L.M., but you don’t know where to start. I got you. These are some of the easiest and most common ways to use the U.R.L.M. in the streets, your neighborhoods, and in the swaths of protest. - Anon Part 1: METHODS OF IMPLEMENTATION Drawing: Using a pencil, charcoal, paintbrush, sharpie, etc, draw (or etch) it while visualizing the intention you want to bring about through the mark. Even for those who aren't adept at drawing, with practice, this can quickly become one of the easiest methods to utilize the U.R.L.M. Paint it on a rock to carry in your pocket or bury it somewhere that needs it. If you need to keep it hidden but in plain sight, draw it in a clear liquid that fits your ritual style. Note: If you choose, or are unable to make an intention or manifestation with these methods due to any number of constraints, simply utter or visualize the words: *Unite. Resist.* 2. Stencils: Piggybacking off the drawing option, a stencil version has been circulating. A printable version can be found among our reddit and social media posts. The concept is the same as drawing: when making your stencil, and while tracing or painting over it, envision your intention and manifest that into the finished product. 3. Stickers: This combines drawing with using blank mailing label stickers (or anything similar) that you can find at office supply stores, art stores, or the post office. Draw the U.R.L.M. using the processes mentioned above, then place them until you run out. If you choose to use a printer, you might prefer instead making your intention while you’re placing the sticker, unless of course technowitchcraft is your thing. You may also want to visualize how the mark should affect the object you’re applying it to (more of this in part 2). 5. Digital: Absolutely, this can be used digitally! Lay it under memes, make it front and center, create your own art and versions of it, and share everywhere. This is our beacon to the fight, and in today's world, the digital realm will be ground zero for the United Resistance. 6. Consecration of Objects: For the seasoned practitioners out there, we know you’re all about having the right tools for the job. Consecrate your tools with the U.R.L.M. and wield a physical manifestation of this sword and shield. To go the extra mile, invoke and dedicate these newly consecrated items to the now unblind Lady Justice. Part 2: AREAS OF APPLICATION Protection: Consider places where the innocent, marginalized, and vulnerable could use some extra help. Perhaps a part of town that ICE has been targeting, or an area where a protest is planned. Even a federal building where the employees may be having their spirits assaulted by propaganda and mass firings. And if you’re unable to make it to these places, you can draw it on a map or send it through the mail. 2. Sabotage: The U.R.L.M. excels at interfering with electronics and machinery. Versus a computer, vehicle, appliance, or mechanical infrastructure, with the right visualization it can cause lag or a malfunction. Disruption of enemy communication is an historically effective type of sabotage. Spreading the U.R.L.M. into cyberspace can work like a virus that hunts down communications of ill intentions. Propaganda and distortion of information is a serious problem for the resistance. Try to sneak the U.R.L.M. into a harmful social media page. The easiest way to do this would be to add it to your profile image and make an innocuous comment that is unlikely to be deleted by a mod. 3. Cognitive Influence: Passers by may not take notice of the U.R.L.M. if it’s etched on a stone near a sidewalk, but if you set your intentions correctly, it can influence subliminally in the corner of their eye. Perhaps an enemy of The Constitution is walking home, they sense it and start second-guessing the administration. Conversely, make it huge and in plain view, and they walk home nervously, with a new and mysterious fear of the Old Gods. Applying this to things that may be worn or carried by a foe of Lady Justice could also work. For instance, you could draw in on the inside label of your coworker’s MAGA hat or draw it in chalk on the tire of a Cybertruck (if chalk is not considered vandalism in your area). And it may be used as a watermark on a printed document, such as a letter to a congress representative. A more common option would be to put it on a picket sign if you’re able to attend a protest. In such a case, with a little extra work, you could apply this to protection as well as influence. 4. A Symbol of Hope Even without activating the U.R.L. mark, it can be a symbol of hope and empower resistance. A person who is feeling run down and helpless as fascism descends all around them will see this emblazoned on a sign and may feel a rush of confidence. If hope and morale falls, the rest of the resistance will fall with it. It is unquestionably important to maintain the hope and the dream. This symbol can also tell people that this place is protected by witches and magic users, and can be used to communicate camaraderie with other practitioners. These examples are just a few ideas. With imagination and intuition, the ways to utilize the U.R.L. Mark are limitless. Part 3. DISCLAIMERS Legality: This document does not advocate vandalism or other illegal activities. Determining whether anything mentioned in this document is legal or enforced varies according to local laws. In places where it is enforced, suggestions of private or public locations assume you will apply the mark either digitally, or to your own personal property which is kept on your person or left nearby in a legal manner. Anything outside this scope is at your own risk and is between you, the law, and Lady Justice. 2. Tattoos: Please refrain from getting the U.R.L.M. tattooed. This is a movement where the Mark is the face of the organization; please do not needlessly put yourselves in harm's way by rendering this unremovable from your body. "The creators of the U.R.L.M. abhor and do not condone the use and appropriation of magic symbols for fascist/nazi symbology, and they will not take the U.R.L.M." Part 4: FINAL THOUGHTS The U.R.L.M. was created and empowered by several practitioners, but we are aware that we cannot represent all magic users who may want to join the fight using this mark. With this in mind, it was encoded in a manner which allows its shape to be modified. For instance, the part of the mark that empowers justice is the Tiwaz rune (up arrow shape); if runes do not resonate with you, your faith, or your practice, another equivalent symbol may be used in its place—for instance, a set of scales, a cross, or an animal symbol. The “V” is also an important part which embodies Victory in many cultures. But if there is a symbol that better represents your culture or language, we encourage you to explore those options. By making the U.R.L.M. fit your practice, it will only become more powerful in your hands. Unite! Resist! Liberate!
