THE MEANING OF LIFE Daily Astrology Tues 13th Oct Moon in Scorpio square Jupiter in Leo. Jupiter is the king of the gods, yet he doesn't get the same attention as the other personal planets. Jupiter shows us how the universe works, and where to look for meaning. That is why he rules religion. Nowadays we are down on religion: it is not true, and it is brainwashing. So we think. Maybe that is why Jupiter is a bit overlooked. But religion comes from a word meaning to bind together. It creates community through shared ceremony and belief around that which is held to be sacred. Of course it gets rigid, but that doesn't invalidate it. Look at the resources and faith that went into building beautiful churches and cathedrals across medieval Europe. Jupiter in Leo is the individual quest for meaning that characterises the modern west. But the Moon in Scorpio is challenging that attitude, asking us to have an intimately shared sense of meaning. It ultimately comes down to shared mythologies, stories about the origin of things that Jupiter scoops from Neptune's ocean. Modern philosophies would have it that the universe has no meaning, and any meaning has to be created by humans. And that has a fit with the shadow of Jupiter in Leo, the sign of the individual. It is, however, an absurd idea. If you are at all sensitive, if you listen to yourself and to life, you know that meaning is a co-creation, there to be lived, the universe abounds in meaning and significance. So that is a reflection emerging from today's aspect. Sense the long-term guiding hand of a living fate in your life, that animates all the life about you, to which you are intimately connected. Jupiter is faith in life itself, Leo has it in a fresh, child-like way, and Scorpio Moon shows us how to keep it amid life's trials and tribulations.
