#poetry Dragon's Bane (v4) In dreary cave, a dragon’s born, A mere child, yet basked in scorn. Spotted in panic and innocent roam, a dragon’s slain, by withered tome. Scourge: purged, slit and bossed. Abruptly found, fought and accost. A naive creature, cursed by blood, Seen by the throne and thrust into flood. Picked and looted without time to grow, All for foolish rancor begot eons ago. No hoard, no riches, no treasure in tow, Only more life stolen by an irrational foe. Endangered, scared, doomed to unrest, The dragon’s bane, such a callous request.
